It's Dr. Jekyll and I am Mr. Hyde

Well, it's been a while since my blog was up and running. I am sorry for this. I regret it more than anyone else. My blog was hosted on my cousin's VPS who moved to a new Webhost bringing my blog down. I didn't find time to move it to the new server. There was one more problem with my previous blog. I had had enough with Wordpress. It had a great community, but it was rather slow while processing requests and had too much functionality for a simple blog. This was the perfect opportunity to get rid of wordpress for good. While I was looking for simpler alternatives, my cousin told me about this Dr. Jekyll who could bring me back from Hyding.

A few days ago, I took time to experiment with it. I didn't know Ruby. Fortunately, I didn't have to, thanks to it's usage of Liquid Extensions. It was a breeze setting it up. I just did jekyll --server and it was up running on my machine.

Then, I moved it to the new server. And, now it's up and dazzling. Now, all I have to do is create a new HTML file and push it to the repository. And it's up on my blog. The greatest thing about Jekyll is that it generates static HTML files for each page in the site and you're served just plain old static HTML, at lightning speed.

So here stands my blog powered by Jekyll, HTML 5 and CSS 3.
